7th Roundhay Brownies Summer Term 2002

We have enjoyed a very busy term in the Monday night Brownies.  We ended last term with our Pack Holiday at Robin Hole Ilkley, where the theme was Harry Potter.  Everyone had a fantastic time with lots of craft activities and games not to mention washing up!  Thank you to all who helped during the weekend.

We started the summer term by completing our Toymakers badge.  We made finger puppets, card puppet dancers, peg dolls and sock puppets from clean socks and then put on a puppet show.

In June we celebrated the Golden Jubilee with a party and games.  We also made glamorous crowns to wear and we all looked very regal!  We went on a Bingo Walk in the local vicinity and brushed up on observations skills, and had lots of fun in space in early July learning about the planets, constellations and little green Martians!  We finished the year with a joint party with the Monday Rainbows where you could come in fancy dress with a picnic tea.  The Brownies ended with a game of rounders and Naomi’s mum broke all our bats!  On that note I would like to thank all the parents that have helped and supported Janet and myself throughout the year either by taking part in the parents’ rota that has to operate in order for the Brownie Unit to continue or in any other way.  I hope you have enjoyed it and are looking forward to next year.  We still desperately need another adult leader on a regular basis on a Monday night – no experience needed just an ability to muck in and a desire to make new friends and have fun!
