7th Roundhay Guides Summer Camp

Our camp this year was held at Robin Hole campsite near Ilkley. We did lots of different activities during the week, including lots of cook outs, camp crafts, grass sledging, building a rope bridge, a light trail (ask one of the guides if you don't know what this is).

We spent a whole afternoon playing a fantastic "wide game" which involved us being animals and running away from the leaders who squired us with water pistols if they got close enough.

Some of the older guides did their advanced camper badge; this involved building a bivouac, sleeping in it all night and cooking our own breakfast the next morning. We also had a trip to Ilkley open air pool. Everyone was brave enough to have a dip except Karen who swam inside.

Thank you Karen for organising a great camp once again. Also to Hazel, Anne and Jeanette for all their hard work.
