16th November 2008 Dedication of the Lectern.

I would like to thank Bishop James and all my St. Edmund's Church family for the wonderful service and welcome I had today, in order to dedicate the lectern in remembrance of my parents, Pattie and Syd Gale.

It was made all the more special to have my Grandson, James, my Son-in Law Bill, and his Mother Jane, to share the day with me. I felt very privileged to walk down to the Altar with the Oblations, accompanied by Bill and James, it felt very much like a 'home-coming' having spent nearly sixty years worshipping with so many of you.

I have been very Blessed to have Pattie and Syd as my Mum and Dad, as I said this morning "They loved me into being". They were very special parents, who provided both my sisters and myself with a very secure home. They attended St. Edmund's Church regularly mainly on Wednesday morning.

Then came my marriage to Johnny, and through that secure love we had the great blessing of four children, which I am aware carried on Pattie and Syd's love through us, and subsequently to four Grand- children, so I feel that the Love of The Lord is growing from generation to generation.

As we all journey on together in Christ may the Words of Isaiah in Ch:55 vv10-11, bring forth much fruit of The Spirit to all who hear the Word proclaimed from the Lectern.

"As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."

Very many Blessings to you all,
With my Love,
Trisha Bennett
