Wednesday Brownies
As many readers will already know this year
Girl Guiding is 100 years old and the Brownies have been busy taking part
in the Centenary Challenge, Adventure 100.
This term we have already held an Olympics Evening, made percussion instruments,
used dark ingredients to make a very yummy sweet, enjoyed a 60s evening
and have more exciting activities planned.
In April we had a visit to Diggerland (see pictures below) and on May
Day Bank Holiday Monday took part in the Centenary Division Day at Wike
where the girls were able to sample lots of different activities and workshops.
At lunchtime we had a hailstorm and we all ate our sandwiches with the
Guides in a very confined space. The day ended with a campfire and birthday
cake.
Our Brownies are also 80 years old on 9th July and we plan to hold a birthday
party. If anyone would like to come along and see what activities Brownies
get up to nowadays please contact Jean Livesey.
