Articles - Miscellaneous
Safe and fed, in comfy chair
Now confronted with despair.
Swollen bodies, pleading eyes,
Fragile limbs and feasting flies.
Tiny wasted children they,
Grieving parents with no say.
Walking slowly, stony roads,
Few possessions, heavy loads.
Dusty, ragged, many ill,
Day time heat, then night time chill.
Unmarked graves, so sad to see,
What if it were you or me?
Could we bear with dignity,
Hunger, sorrow, misery?
Brought about by Mankind's greed,
Lord, please help them in their need.
Can we show them how we care?
How our hearts ache bowed in prayer.
Governments just muddling through,
Needing vision, purpose too.
Needs so great and wants so few.
It's up to me, and you, and you.
Perhaps at home we have to stay,
But help we can, in our own way.
Have we given? Yes, indeed.
May our prayers now back the deed.
Have we given? Give again!
Pray God send the needed rain.
