Hot Trip to the Fire Station
On Saturday 14th June, the St Edmund's Beaver
group went to visit Moortown Fire Station.
We split into 2 groups to look around the fire engine and I was with Fireman
Adam. He showed us all the stuff on the engine and we tried on a helmet
- it was very smelly! Some of the others set off the siren and we all covered
our ears! The best bit was when we got to set off the hosepipe. We tried
to get Bena (*) wet but she ran out of the way.
Adam showed us how he comes down the pole - that was cool! He asked us to
draw him some pictures so they could decorate their walls and I did one
of me trying to get Bena wet. It was a cool afternoon and I would love to
go back.
