Celebration at Forest Hill

Forest Hill is a sheltered housing complex in the peaceful setting of Park Crescent near to the Canal Gardens.  For the last ten years, people from St Edmund’s, St Andrew’s and Lidgett Park – and at one time - Street Lane Fellowship – have taken services in the communal lounge on the second Tuesday of each month (except August). On Tuesday July 8th there will be a Celebration Service at 10.30am in Forest Hill to celebrate these ten years of ecumenical services and anyone with past connections is warmly invited to join us.

Mrs Elsie Gray from Lidgett Park has written a poem which she read at our Easter service.  She has been persuaded to have it published in the three magazines.

It’s good the time spent here together
Bringing our news and ignoring the weather.
We share our joys and sometimes sorrow;
Our load is eased as we face tomorrow.
We listen to the words that are gently spoken
And hear the message so wisely chosen.
It helps us face what lies ahead
As we acknowledge what has been said.
We thank each one for coming today
And wish you well as you go on your way.
