"The Heavenly Man"
it was more than six weeks since my legs had been

8.00am and I walked towards the locked iron gate in the hallway
at
the exact moment I reached the gate it was opened for someone else, I walked
through without even breaking my stride
on through the 2nd gate, the
guard just looked right through me
when I arrived at the main iron gate
leading to the courtyard it was open and unguarded and I passed through it
across the courtyard past several guards yet nobody stopped me
I strolled
through the main gate of the prison, also standing ajar
A portion from the Apostle Peter's diary as he recounts
one of his miraculous escapes from prison (Acts 5: 17 - 24 and 12: 1 - 19)?
No, an account of the escape of Liu Zhenying, known as Brother Yun, from
the Zhengzhou Number One Maximum Security Prison, China, on May 5th, 1997.
Brother Yun was the fourth child of five born into a poor
family in China's Henan Province. In 1974, at the age of 16, his father
became very ill with stomach cancer, everything looked so hopeless. Into
that situation Jesus spoke and his mother responded with tears and repentance,
followed by Brother Yun and his siblings. Within a week his father was completely
healed and the whole family began to share their new faith with their neighbours.
Thus began an incredible adventure of service to God, which you can read
for yourself in the inspiring biography "The Heavenly Man" (ISBN
1-85424-597-X).
A date for your diary: Brother Yun, who has since had to
leave China, continues to serve Christ in Europe and is visiting Leeds on
Tuesday, 2nd March. I'm very excited at the prospect of hearing this committed
Christian. Tickets can be obtained by post from Spirit in the City, Hough
Lane, Bramley, LS13 3RD. They are £5 each, cheques made payable to
"Spirit in the City". I believe they are selling rapidly.
