Articles - Miscellaneous
This year people from the congregation of St Edmund's have been exploring basic Biblical theology using the Birmingham Diocesan 3D course (The Diocesan course for Developing Disciples). One recent session was concerned with creativity and below is one member's creative writing.
Dear Sir or Madam,
You are a God of spirit, truth and vision. I ask for the vision and spiritual
insight to understand your truth.
As you know I am a member of the congregation at St. Edmund's Roundhay,
Leeds. Does this give me any special concessions or privileges, if and when
I come into your kingdom?
Yours sincerely,
Uncertain, Leeds
Dear Uncertain,
You are already in my kingdom, therefore I expect you to live up to your
responsibilities. You have done nothing to earn this privilege; it is my
gift to anyone who hears my call.
St. Edmund's Roundhay is but a grain of sand in the full totality of my creation. Remember that you were not born into faith; you were called into faith.
In response to a previous letter St. Paul says that he is sorry that you don't understand (or that you disagree with) most of what is written in his Epistles. However, he says that we are brothers in Christ, and he sends you his greetings.
It is good to hear that your study group experience has given you a new resolve to keep your lips closed and your mind open. (Unless of course you witness another Pentecost experience as in Acts chapter 2)
Yours sincerely,
God
