War Memorial
You may have read a couple of months ago in
the magazine that there are no names on our war memorial for those who died
during the Second World War. Well, there is good news. A typed list of 24
names has been found tucked into the parish magazines from 1946. It was
probably produced for the very first Remembrance Day after the war and then
tucked away and forgotten for 65 years. We plan to create something that
we can hang alongside the existing memorial in time for this year's Remembrance
Day. We are also looking into whether any women died during the First World
War who served in the Royal Nursing Auxiliaries. If so then they will be
added as well.
