St Edmund's Young People's New Year Party
When I arrived at the party we put all the
food on the table. Everybody took something and we all shared. There were
sandwiches, crisps, pizza, pork pie, cake and lots of chocolate!
We played lots of games. We started with a quiz and had to find the person
at the party who had the answer. I was the person that went to Burley Oaks
Primary School but we couldn't find the person with the X-Box.
Then we played musical chairs and pass the parcel and I won pass the parcel!
I was able to pick my prize out of a sack.
Then we played a game where we ran around in a circle and when the music
stopped we had to land on a piece of paper but while we were running around,
someone was tearing up the pieces of paper so they were getting smaller
and smaller. If you couldn't stand on a piece of paper you were out. It
was a lot of fun! All the children were laughing!
After
tea we played pictionary and had a few games with the parachute. We all
threw our shoes underneath and then David called our names out and we had
to run under the parachute and try to find our shoes before the parachute
went down. Lots of people got caught!
We made a mushroom by blowing the parachute up, pulling it down behind us
facing inwards and then we sat on the edge so it we were all sitting inside
a tent!
David put a ball on the parachute but if it fell over the edge near your
team you lost a point. There were two teams so we were trying to flip the
ball across the parachute over to the other side.
We played sharks and lifeguards. We were sat around the edge of the parachute
with our legs underneath. The sharks were also under the parachute going
round in circles, trying to pull us in by our legs. The lifeguards had to
go round and hang on to us to stop us being pulled in!
We
played washing machine too. Four people sat in the middle of the parachute
and the rest of us walked around singing and holding the edge of the parachute
so that they were all wrapped up then we all pulled as hard as we could
and the people in the middle span round and round like a washing machine!
Everyone really enjoyed all the games. Thanks to all the leaders for giving
us such a great party and having lots of fun!
