Father,

We give you thanks for all your gifts to us throughout the past year.
For our world and its resources even when we squander them.
For all whom we love, even though we often take them for granted.
For all the blessings showered upon us, even though we sometimes fail to acknowledge them.

This is a time for looking forward, for putting some things behind us and looking to the future.
A time for new thanksgiving for all we hold dear.
Help us to commit ourselves in faith to whatever tasks you ask of us.
And we ask you to walk beside us throughout this New Year.
