Prayer for Change

The Prayer for Change is printed simultaneously in the magazines of St Andrew's, Lidgett Park and St Edmund's

Unchanging God,
Full of forgiveness,
Constant in love,
Forgive our failure
to care for the world
and all the resources
You have given us to cherish and share.

Help us to recognise
how our short-term demands
for unseasonal crops
and sun-seeking holidays
cause long-term damage
as the labours of the poor are exploited,
as climates change and our carbon footprints
continue to grow.

Forgive our empty promises
and half-hearted commitment
to a fairer, greener and energy saving existence.

Change our hearts and our habits,
that our lifestyles may reflect more fully and consistently
your goodness, justice and loving care.
