Prayer for Change

The Prayer for Change is printed simultaneously in the magazines of Lidgett Park, St Andrew's and St Edmund's.

Holy Spirit, we rejoice that on the day of Pentecost, with wind and power you swept through that upper room and sent your disciples out, to preach and to travel with the Word of God. Grant us such a change that our everyday helpfulness to others, and bible reading and church-going may be enthused, enlightened and sustained by your presence and your power.

And in this Christian Aid Week, we pray that what - with God's help - we seem to do, may lead to change in the lives of many we are enabled humbly, to help.

Let us join together in the prayer of Saint Teresa of Avila

Let nothing disturb you,
Nothing cause you fear.
All things are passing -
God never changes.
Patient endurance attains to all things;
Who possesses God, is wanting in nothing:
Alone God sufficeth.
