Hopes and Plans for 2011-12
At our Annual Meeting David
shared some of his hopes for the coming year and some of the plans that
are already in place. These were discussed and added to by others. Here
are some of David's thoughts.
Buildings:
That the Church Hall will have solar panels fitted (scheduled for this
summer).
That we will draw up plans for a kitchenette and more toilets in the church
and begin to implement them.
That we will be open one day a week for the community, and invite asylum
seekers to join in, with activities such as: music, arts/crafts, lunch
club, English conversation, friendship, as well as offering a space for
prayer.
Communications:
That we will improve internal and external communication through a group
emailing, a coordinated database, better use of press, modern electronic
media, posters, etc. with the help of a Communications Coordinator.
Faith:
That we will have a course to help us relate our faith to our working
lives.
Finance:
That we will feel secure enough to take the offer from the Diocese to
write off 50% of our unpaid historic share in return for us committing
to pay off the remainder over the next 5-10 years.
Pastoral:
That we will all become more aware of those who may be missing from church.
That we will follow them up ourselves or refer them on to the clergy.
That we will develop a pastoral network of people who will be happy to
phone or call.
Worship:
That we will finish our review of our communion services.
That we will grow a planning group to help develop and sustain our Sanctuary
service.
