REAP
Roundhay Environmental Action Project
The Roundhay Challenge!

Can we form a group to promote practical local action on the environment and climate change?

Can we find ways of reducing the amount of carbon we use, but still have fun?

Can we search out the ideas and expertise in our community and bring them together effectively to help our local environment?

Can we lobby more widely to help Leeds move towards being carbon neutral?

If your answer is YES to any or all of these, REAP (Roundhay Environmental Action Project) wants to hear from you. REAP is a newly formed organisation established by people in the Roundhay Ward, on a voluntary basis, who are concerned about their carbon footprint and wanting to develop a greener lifestyle. We have already set up a Farmers' Market on the third Saturday of each month at the Oakwood Clock launched on 15 March 2008. We hope to set up more projects, enabling people locally to live more sustainably.

If you want to join or find out more about this inspiring new venture, please:- visit our website at www.roundhayaction.org.uk; email us on info@roundhayaction.org.uk, speak to us at the Oakwood Farmers' Market+, or send your ideas and contact details (address/email/tel no). to REAP at 37 The Drive, Roundhay, Leeds, LS8 1JQ

We need your thoughts and ideas on what you can do to help develop the next REAP project. Once the replies are in, we'll organise a local meeting (not boring) to get well and truly moving.

Jill Jones

(The next Oakwood Farmers' Market+ will be on Saturday 19th April from 9am till 12.30pm)
