Sneaton Castle Parish Weekend

One of the workshops on offer at the Parish Weekend was in Creative Writing. After looking at some texts on different emotions and thoughts on belief, we were encouraged to put down our own thoughts. I saw a chair adrift from the line at one end of the room and this came into my head.

The Chair

There is a chair,
Right over there,
Out of place from all the rest,
And I can't help thinking: That chair is best,
For I love to see at any time
A peaceful rebel in a perfect line

After that I gazed out of the window and saw the moon in daylight and it brought other thoughts to mind.

Stars

To wish on stars
When none are out
Is the best thing to do
I have no doubt
For how can you choose one
And not feel bad
That you've made the rest
A little sad?
