Let's Go Swishing
The monthly Coffee Morning on Saturday March
26th (10am to 12noon) is joining forces with the REAP Gardening group
to put on a Swishing party. You may not have been to one of these before
but if you go you will be taking part in the new phenomenon sweeping the
world of fashion! So what should you expect, apart from coffee and cake
and biscuits?
A good Swish needs lots of people and lots of clean, good quality garments
which you have tired of yourself or maybe grown out of. For every garment
you bring (on a hanger please) you get a token which you can exchange
for another item you take a fancy to. Simple. So, adults, teenagers and
children, have a spring clear-out and bring clothes to church either on
the Sunday before, on Friday 25th March from 6-7pm or on the actual day
at 10am.
At 11am on the Saturday the curtain goes up and you can buy, buy buy,
using only your tokens of course. There will be somewhere for you to try
on clothes plus free advice on how to do alterations!
There will also be a Gardening group stall, with details of the year's
programme of events as well as a chance to do some spring veggie planting,
also for free!
Mums, maybe dads, teenagers and children - get swishing and bring your
friends! Remember Saturday 26th March in church.
PS. Any leftover clothes will go to St. Gemma's Hospice Shop.
