For Children Everywhere

A prayer for little children
This Christmastide would be
For abundant loving kindness
Wherever they may be.
From cruel cold and hunger,
From pain and lack of love
Please free them all, Good Father,
And may they have enough
Of blessings dear to childhood
That Jesus had himself,
True warmth and simple comfort
Abiding love his wealth.
And so by this same concern
For children - from Pole to Pole
May we rock the tiny Christ Child
Deep within our soul.
