Popular Wedding at Roundhay

'Popular wedding at Roundhay' is the title of a 5½ minute silent film which was shot by Debenham & Co of York recording a wedding at St Edmund's on 20th October 1920. This early nitrate film was made to be shown in local cinemas.

The wedding is that of Fred Groves to Alice Rothwell. The film shows the family at their house, guests and the bride arriving by car at the church, the bride and groom leaving the church and getting into a car. Finally the guests are shown at a different venue which could be The Mansion.
